Erasmus + Programme

Our department has signed bilateral cooperation agreements with 11 European universities within the scope of the European Union Erasmus + Programme. These universities are:

Students are exchanged at undergraduate and graduate levels with universities with which we have agreements. Faculty members are also exchanged within the scope of the Erasmus Programme. Every year, lecturers from these universities give lectures in our department; in the same way, faculty members of our department go to the universities with which we have an agreement to give education.

Our department also actively participates in other European Union Education Programmes. In 2002, we participated in the Erasmus Thematic Networks, supported by Le Notre: Landscape Architecture Thematic Network Project is one of them. Within the scope of the project, landscape architecture education in Europe is addressed in all aspects. For more information about the project, please see http://www.le-notre.org. Another project in which our department is involved together with the Department of Environmental Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of Akdeniz University within the scope of the Erasmus Programme is the project COZIP: Integrated Coastal Zone Management Intensive Programme in Europe. The project, which started in 2005 and lasted for 3 years, involved universities from England, Wales, Ireland, Spain and Malta. The first stage of the project was held at Akdeniz University between 14-29 June 2005. Within the scope of the project, 30 foreign students and 12 foreign lecturers came and a 15-day training programme was carried out with the participation of 10 students and 5 lecturers from our department. The 2nd stage of the project was held in Southampton (England) and Swansea (Wales) between 25 June-10 July 2006. Within the scope of the project, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students and faculty members from the Departments of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Engineering of Akdeniz University worked together with students and faculty members from Southampton Solent University, Swansea Institute of Higher Education and Cork University (Ireland). The 3rd phase of the project was held in Cork (Ireland) between 10-24 June 2007.

The project named Cultural Landscapes in Landscape Design (Culturescape), which is carried out by our department within the scope of Erasmus Intensive Programmes, is also supported by the National Agency. In addition to our department, Ankara University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Landscape Architecture, Brussels Erasmus University (Belgium) and Dresden University of Applied Sciences (Germany) are involved in this project. The first stage of the three-year project was held in the Adrasan facilities of our university between 3-16 July 2011 with the organisation of our department. 28 students and 9 faculty members participated in the summer school organisation. The 2nd stage of the project was held in Brussels (Belgium) between 1-14 July 2012. 30 students and 9 faculty members participated in this stage.
